Slovenia prepared thoroughly for the EU Council Presidency 2008
| Slovenia is the first new Member State to hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. As early as January 2005, Slovenia started thoroughly preparing for holding the Presidency and adopted the document Preparations for Slovenia’s Presidency of the European Union. The overall preparations for structuring general policy guidelines and priority tasks at the highest level are managed by Prime Minister Janez Janša. | ![]() |
As of 1 January 2008, the website of the Slovenian EU Council presidency will be accessible online in three languages (Slovene, English, French) at the web addresses www.eu2008.si and www.ue2008.si.
